Sourcing in China requires experience and an understanding of the process from start to finish. Quality
The key to our growth in manufacturing in China has been our quality program developed as a result of our 20 years of experience production and factory management in China. Our systems are based on a forward planning approach to process control, analyzing every process in the production path. This creates the means of detecting potential variations and inconsistencies together with determining their effect on the product or delivery times. Through this method we develop a control plan designed to prevent faults appearing throughout production and there is constant testing to confirm each project quality plan is effective.
Our quality management program extends to the training and management of our sub-contractors. In process management systems and monitoring of quality is conducted by CMS staff. Our own engineers check all components and final products with modern measurement equipment or independent labs if needed to ensure dimensional and functional compliance to specifications.
CMS systems work from the very beginning of a project, at the component production stage, to ensure no element will need corrective action after the whole assembly is completed. The CMS management system is implemented in production at our manufacturing partners in the same systematic approach we operate in-house, guarantying a consistent result to all shipments.
Intellectual Property (IP) Protection
Protecting your IP is of utmost importance to everyone in our company. We employ background checks on our employees and we only work with trusted manufacturing partners. We sign NDAs and our partners have signed our own NDAs. One of the best ways to protect IP is to limit disclosure on a need to know basis. When necessary we split up components to different vendors and have final assembly performed at a separate trusted facility.
Our manufacturing partners clearly understand the importance of protecting your IP and know that the slightest infraction will cause swift and harsh action from us that will immediately jeopardize other business that we do with them. In addition our Chinese legal counsel is well versed in IP in China and will assist if needed. Our reputation and our business is at stake to ensure your IP, molds, designs and product development is as safe with us as it is in your own factory.
Business Methodology
If you have a new product that you need produced at the lowest possible cost then CMS is your solution. We work closely with customers to develop specifications and vendors to deliver the best possible product. We provide Rapid Prototyping services to assist you in getting to the market as quickly as possible. Provide us your drawings or concepts and we take it from there working with our customer step by step ensuring a quick estimate of product costs and delivery.
If you have an existing product or component you want sourced in China we will always be able to get the lowest price when you provide us with samples. Our manufacturing partners are then able to factor out any variances in costing when we have a sample in hand.
When we take on a new project we agree to a timetable that is developed at the beginning of the project. We translate specifications and procedures into Chinese and ensure the manufacturer understands perfectly the product or part so that there are no surprises after the contract is signed. Contracts with CMS are drafted in English and governed by the tried and tested Western legal system as a safeguard for customers who would prefer not to have to deal with a less familiar Chinese system. Contracts are written so that they are enforceable in your country, Canada and China.
Designated Project Managers with either mother tongue English, or a high level of spoken and written English, monitor contract progress and update customer files which can be viewed by client’s night or day.
Communications
Excellent communication is the key to sourcing from China which is still a developing nation that has very different cultures from Europe and the USA. We respond quickly always with clarity and honesty, if there is a problem, we know that the best policy is always to be up front with quick and clear communication alerting our customer to a problem if it arises, informing you what the problem is and what suggestions we have to resolve it.
We do not hide anything from our customers; we will never risk our valued relationship with our customer on not informing you of anything that could affect the delivery of a product or the quality of your products or components.
When you place an order we confirm the order and the delivery dates / price / etc within 48 hours. We provide continued updates as to delivery dates that you can count on. We monitor production and keep you updated as the order moves through manufacturing to shipping.
New inquiries are responded to quickly and if we are not able to meet your requirements we will let you know as soon as possible. Quotations for parts with drawings and samples are generally sent back to the customer within 7 days.

Personnel
CMS employees are the most highly trained and experienced staff available. Our group is made up of Mechanical and Electrical engineers with hands on experience. Our engineers work with our Sourcing Project Managers to fully understand your requirements and to make sure our manufacturing partners fully understand all of your specifications.
Our clerical staff is trained to ensure that documentation required for international shipping is perfect every time. No mistakes or delays are acceptable.
All of our Chinese staff are bilingual and have strong abilities in English. Communication in English is paramount to a successful supplier / customer relationship and we work diligently to avoid any misunderstandings. All quotations are reviewed and signed by the President. When we commit to provide a product at a set price we always deliver that product that meets your specifications at the price agreed upon.
President's Message
My first business trip to China was 20 years ago; so much has changed since that time including the vibrant medical device industry. Since that initial trip I made 75 more trips and met many new friends. Each trip brought new experiences and more knowledge about China’s medical device industry.
Other than the constant need to improve communications my biggest challenge was finding suppliers in various sectors of the industry. I was amazed there was no industry specific directory or information hub for buyers to find suppliers and relized the benifit of this much needed industry portal.
